Among the earliest habitats of the early Middle Ages studied in Franche-Comté, the Pratz le Curtillet a settlement sets itself apart by its location in the Jura highlands, renowned for its remoteness and inhospitable landscapes. On the Lizon plateau, the scope of the archaeological work explored on the 16 hectares and the quality of the remains still constitute an exceptional complex today. An imposing 16m by 13m stone building flanked by an annex forms the residential part of the estate, while sheltering fodder and livestock, while the second building houses a forge. RésuméLes couches humides des puits sont souvent étudiées d’un point de vue carpologique. Cet article présente quelques réflexions et suggestions concernant l’échantillonnage, le traitement des prélèvements et la présentation des résultats carpologiques provenant de ces couches humides, généralement riches en macrorestes végétaux. Les plantes cultivées sont classées dans les tableaux par grands groupes fonctionnels (céréales, légumineuses, plantes oléagineuses et à fibres, fruitiers cultivés, etc.) et les taxons sauvages sont regroupés à partir de classes syntaxinomiques. During excavations conducted in 2011 in Grand (Vosges), a domus dating from the 2nd century and the first half of the 3rd was uncovered. Among the well-preserved vestiges a kitchen was identified with its cooking installations still in situ. These consisted of a hearth, a raised cooking platform and an oven. The kitchen was probably in use for both the residential and the servant’s quarters of the domus. The sediments linked to the use of the kitchen yielded numerous organic remains and pottery sherds dating from the 3rd century. L’habitat protohistorique de Marly, La Grange aux Ormes, qui fait l’objet de ce volume, est situé en Moselle, à moins de 400 m de la Seille, cours d’eau dont la vallée est connue pour avoir été un important centre d’exploitation du sel aux âges du Fer. L’étude des nombreuses structures du site a permis d’observer l’évolution d’une occupation sur près de quatre siècles, de la fin de l’âge du Bronze final IIIb (Hallsatt B3) à la fin du premier âge du Fer (Hallstatt D2-D3).Cette occupation se répartit essentiellement sur deux zones, la première concentrant l’habitat proprement dit, aménagé en rive d’un chenal, alors que la seconde zone, distante de 300 m, semble réunir la plupart des activités…

Archaeological surveys by test trenching and two preventive excavations of the Institut national de recherches archéologiques préventives (Inrap) in 2001 and 2008 preceding the construction of a housing area in Rurange-lès-Thionville (Lorraine, Moselle) allowed documenting and investigating a Gallo-Roman farmstead of modest size. This farmstead, covering a total surface of more than 7000 m², was composed of different buildings typical for a Gallo-Roman agricultural exploitation.
